What that means in practice

We prepare documents at your direction. We can explain what a Nevada instrument does and does not do, what a county requires on the face of a document, how the Real Property Transfer Tax is calculated, and what everything costs before you commit.

We cannot tell you which document you should use, interpret your circumstances, advise you on the consequences of a transfer, or act for you in any dispute. Those are legal services. If your situation calls for them, we will say so plainly and suggest you speak with a Nevada attorney — and we would rather do that than sell you a document that does not fit.

This website is general information

Everything published on trupointdeeds.com is general information about Nevada documents and procedures. It is not advice about your property, your family or your circumstances, and reading it does not make you a client.

Statutes change, counties change their requirements, and government fees change. We check our figures against county and state sources and correct them when they move, but we cannot guarantee that every number on this site is accurate on the day you read it. The figure that governs your matter is the one stated in your written contract.

No engagement until it is in writing

Submitting an intake form, sending an email or calling us does not create an engagement. Nevada law requires a Document Preparation Service to provide a written disclosure and a written contract, signed, before any document is prepared.

Communications are not privileged

Because we are not a law firm, what you tell us does not carry attorney-client privilege and could in principle be disclosed. Bear that in mind when deciding what to share, and take anything genuinely confidential to an attorney.

Recording outcomes

We submit documents electronically to the county on the day they are signed and notarized, but recording is completed by the county on its own schedule. We cannot guarantee a recording date, and a county may reject a document for its own reasons. Where a rejection results from an error on our end, we correct and resubmit at our cost.

Nevada only

The services described on this site are for Nevada property and Nevada documents. California property is handled by our separate California office, TruPoint California, under California rules and California terminology. Nevada instruments and California instruments are not interchangeable, and a form downloaded for another state is a common reason a Nevada filing is rejected.
